GE Compassion Project

Premature infants across the globe have a high mortality rate due to their underdeveloped respiratory systems, limited access to correctly sized medical equipment, and the lack of universal education for the treatment of premature infants. Current manual resuscitation devices are not designed for use on premature infants. Even with proper training, the oversized devices have the tendency to put a premature infant’s sensitive body at high risk of extreme dangers.

Baby Bellow (BB), a compact manual resuscitation kit that promotes safety, confidence, and ease of use for both the responder and receiver in a high-risk emergency such as the first minute after the birth of a premature infant. Along with the two-part resuscitation kit, Baby Bellow also comes paired with a corresponding instruction booklet to aid in confidence during resuscitation.
